Troubled pop prince Michael Jackson has closed his home on the Neverland Ranch in an attempt to save money.
Jackson, who currently lives in Bahrain, has laid off many of his staff but has agreed to settle an outstanding $300,000 wage bill after he was fined for allowing his insurance to lapse.
The $170,000 fine was imposed in January by authorities, who ordered staff to stop working immediately until the issue was resolved.
Some parts of Jackson’s estate are to remain open as staff employed by third parties (and are therefore insured) have been allowed to continue working and security for the estate is being handled by the Jackson family.
A spokeswoman for the pop star refused to comment upon his plans for the ranch.
Jackson's spokesperson has denied speculation that he is planning to move to London.
