Mel Gibson will continue his quest to confuse movie fans, by previewing the ancient language spoken in his forthcoming film, “Apocalypto”, at this weekend's Oscars.
The actor/director/producer has said he'll speak in Mayan when he makes an appearance at the Los Angeles ceremony.
"I wanted to shake up the stale action-adventure genre so we almost had to come up with something utterly different like this," he said, speaking about his new movie which is set 3,000 years ago in central America.
This won't be the first time one of Mel's movies baffles audiences with an obscure language, his last film, “The Passion of the Christ”, was spoken in Latin and Aramaic.
Thankfully “Apocalypto” is expected to be shown with English subtitles, let's hope they do the same for his Oscar speech.
