Banged-up hip hopper Lil' Kim could be freed from prison as soon as this summer, her lawyer has revealed.
The rapper, whose real name is Kimberly Jones, started her one year and a day sentence in a Pennsylvanian prison last September, after admitting she lied to a grand jury investigating a shooting outside a New York radio station in 2001.
Kim won't have to serve her full sentence, as, under federal rules, any sentence over a year gets reduced.
"So Kim will be out in late spring or early summer,” her lawyer, Mel Sachs, says.
The Notorious K.I.M recently penned a letter to model and presenter Tyra Banks, revealing what it's like being in the slammer.
“No matter how good I am in here, this is no place for women to be - or anyone for that matter. It has its trying times and stressful moments - it's very unsanitary - and can be very depressing, especially around the holidays,” she wrote.
“For the most part, all the girls on my block are cool [but] being away from your family and loved ones is the worst part of being locked up,” she added.
