Charlotte Church has revealed she has quit her 25-a-day cigarette habit, and has urged other smokers to do the same this No Smoking Day (March 8th).
British singer Charlotte Church, who used to have a cigarette permanently glued to her fingers - or so you'd think from the countless photographs of her smoking, has said she's giving up her wild, party girl vices as they were damaging her voice.
“I smoked about 20 or 25 a day and I’d tried to give up a couple of times before but only lasted half a day. I decided to make it my New Year’s resolution, I just wanted to,” the singer - once dubbed “the voice of an angel” - has revealed.
“In the last four or five months before I gave up it was affecting my voice, my breathing control, my tone, and I thought: ‘What am I doing here?’”
“It looks disgusting. It’s the stupidest thing. It’s so difficult to get off it.”
“I [also] won’t be drinking so much anymore. All my friends are settled down with boyfriends.”
