Teen queen Amanda Bynes has a new movie coming out next week called "She's The Man", and has been talking a lot on the publicity tour - and being very open and honest and cute whenever she's interviewed.
"She's The Man" is a modern day version of Shakespeare's play "Twelfth Night" where ... "Duke wants Olivia who likes Sebastian who is really Viola whose brother is dating Monique so she hates Olivia who's with Duke to make Sebastian jealous who is really Viola who's crushing on Duke who thinks she's a guy..." Good times. The movie opens March 17.
Anyhoo, Page six interviewed the star (who plays Viola, a young girl pretending to be her twin borther) about everything but the movie: "It's exciting," she said about being in New York. "I was in Bergdorf's buying a newsboy cap, and there stood Susan Sarandon chatting on her cellphone. I just stared as I went by. Seeing famous people is so great, but I wouldn't think of introducing myself. She wouldn't know who I was, and anyhow, I don't consider myself a celebrity."
Amanda on her growing-up days: "I did kid shows, and summertime I'd go to regular school. On the set, it was private tutoring. My friends came to tapings, and then we did what everyone else did - talked about boys."
"At 18, I wanted the independence thing, so I got my own place, but then I was lonely. I missed my mom. And missed her washing my clothes. So now that I'm 19, I've moved back."
"Mom works in my dad's office. He's been a dentist 30 years, and the one thing he won't let me do is whiten my teeth. He says teeth are still forming until you're 24, and it can damage my enamel. I've become a real prophet of knowledge, right?"
And next up for the actress? "I had to be in shape for the movie so they had a nutritionist for me because I needed some muscle tone. Now that it's over, I plan to treat myself to sweets and dessert."
As for dating, Amanda says: "And not that I have a problem or anything, but I'm always looking for a funny, smart guy. Large shoulders, athletic build, personality so he doesn't rely just on looks. And I want a fast, funny sense of humor. I'm a type who moves quick."
