'Brokeback Mountain' Banned in Bahamas

Brokeback Mountain photo Gay cowboy movie "Brokeback Mountain" has been banned in the Bahamas, angering gay rights groups.

Its "extreme homosexuality, nudity and profanity" led the Bahamian Plays and Films Control Board to rule the film should not be shown in theatres.

The Bahamian film board added: the movie - starring Jake Gyllinghaall and Heath Ledger - has "no value for the Bahamian public".

The Rainbow Alliance are pissed off, calling it "a farce", and saying that a small group of people shouldn't be allowed to "provide the moral compass for the entire country".

The controversial film has also been banned in China, where the Government prevented it from being shown in public by refusing to put it on a list of approved foreign films.

Kimora Lee and Russell Simmons The marriage of hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and his model-turned-entrepreneur wife, Kimora Lee Simmons, is officially kaput. It's been rumored that they broke up last summer, and US Weekly is scooping that Russell has taken up with a new girlfriend, 23-year-old model Denise Vasi.

In a statement released to the Associated Press today, Russell said: "Kimora and I will remain committed parents and caring friends with great love and admiration for each other. We will also continue to work side by side on a daily basis as partners in all of our businesses."

The statement also confirmed that the couple have been separated "for some time" but have continued living under the same roof. Russell, 48, and Kimora, 30, have two daughters: Ming, 6, and Aoki, 3, who both model for Baby Phat Clothing, Kimora's offshoot of her husband's Phat Farm clothing line.

Gwyneth and daughter Apple Boozing it up during pregnancy is suppose to be a no-no, so when actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who's five or nine months pregnant, was recently spotting by the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Nazis for knocking down a Guiness at a Sushi Bar, she was promptly turned in to the number Two New York City gossip column for dissing.

But hey-de-ho there star of "Shakespeare in Love", what's better to wash down some nummy raw fish than with a big ol' pint of Guiness? Brilliant!

So the basis of the non-story is this: Gwyneth was at New York sushi bar Cube 63 when her Coldplay hubby Chris Martin pulled a bottle of beer OUT OF HIS BAG (even celebrities Bring Their Own Booze) after the pair had finished eating, and handed it to Gwyneth who, according to witnesses, took a couple of slugs. Then she noticed everyone was staring at her.

A source told New York Daily News newspaper: "Everyone was looking at them and she seemed a bit embarrassed. She looked like she was trying to melt into the corner."

Naomi Campbell Charged With Assault

Naomi Campbell photo Short-fused supermodel Naomi Campbell has been charged by New York cops for striking her housekeeper in the head with her mobile phone.

Naomi could be jailed for up to seven years after being charging with second degree assault, after hurling her phone at Ana Scolavino at her Park Avenue home.

Ana was left with a gash on the back of her head that needed four stitches.

"We believe this is a case of retaliation because Naomi had fired her housekeeper earlier this morning" Naomi�s agent, Amanda Silverman, says.

Naomi�s lawyer, David Breitbart, has claimed the maid's injury was self-inflicted.

Pink, Britney And Lohan Battle for Janis Joplin Role

Pink photo Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Scarlett Johannson and Pink are among the stars fighting it out to win the lead role in a new Janis Joplin biopic.

The movie, called "The Gospel According To Janis", will focus on the story of the 1960s blues singer who was famed for her outrageous performances.

Its director, Penelope Spheeris, has already discussed the part with Pink and Lindsay and still wants to speak with Scarlett.

She says Pink is her �first choice�, but another actress may have to tale the lead as the �Stupid Girls� singer �may have scheduling conflicts."

"She would do just about anything to be part of that project!" Pink�s agent has revealed.

Penelope says �music ability is important� ~~(well, that rules Britney out)~~ and �the actress must have the spirit of Janis�.

Queen Knights Tom Jones. Throws Royal Panties at Him

Tom Jones pic In a solemn ceremony yesterday, the Queen of England knighted singer Tom Jones at Buckingham Palace making him a Knight of the British Empire. Then she threw her underwear at him.

Oh shush, you silly Brits. Of course she didn't REALLY do that.

(But she wanted to.)

Henceforth known as SIR Tom Jones, the legendary 60s Welsh singer told reporters he's met Queen Elizabeth "six or seven times, maybe more," starting with a royal charity performance in 1966. "I love seeing the Queen and I have always been a royalist," Jones said. "She is lovely and she still is lovely."

Sir Tom, who sings "She's a Lady ... whoa, whoa, whoa ... she's a lady," and "It's not unusual to be loved by anyone" and "What's New Pussycat? whoa-whooa-oh-a-oh oh ohh," was accompanied by his son and daughter and a granddaughter, and said receiving the knighthood was "just tremendous."

Jessica Simpson pic Jessica Simpson has vowed to turn her evil eye on poor innocent third world orphaned babies by adopting them, feeding them tuna and telling 'em it's chicken, and turning them into little mini-me Daisy Dukes.

"I want to adopt, and I plan to adopt before I have my own kids," the perky pop star recently popped to Extra.

In Touch Weekly is reporting that Daisy May is so into this new ~~publicity stunt~~ idea that she want to take over an orphanage in Mexico and adopt a couple of young'uns.

The "These Boots are made for walkin'" singer cites the Tomb Raider Lara Croft as her influence: "I think Angelina Jolie has done amazing, amazing things, and the international adoption rate just since her has skyrocketed. It's unbelievable."

"Nothing has been finalized yet" as to when and how Simpson will adopt, her publicist, Rob Shuter, told The Associated Press on Tuesday. But he added, "It is true that she's exploring options." Shuter said Jessica and her family have anonymously contributed funds to "a smattering of" Mexican orphanages for several years now. (They come in smatterings?)

Sharon Stone's "Basic Instinct 2" Is Unbelievably Bad. Just. Bad.

Sharon Stone and her gold lipstick The film doesn't come out until tomorrow but audiences who have sat through sneek previews are dogging the new Sharon Stone "Basic Instinct 2" sequel as a bad movie. A very, very, very bad movie.

I'm predicting that this will go down as one of the worst films of all time - bad enough to rival "Showgirls". As if the movie isn't laughably inept enough, Sharon Stone has gone mental on the publicity tour, and has been saying a lot of wierd s**t about how sexy she is (the 48-year-old does a full frontal nude scene in the film), how she thinks Hillary Clinton shouldn't run for president because she's too "sexy" (ewww!), and she's spewing forth "advice" to teens about the "safety" of oral sex.

Well, I'd like my little teen cousin to advise Sharon not to wear sparkley gold lipstick and not to hammer-spray your hair until you look like Medusa. Makes you look bat-shit crazy, it does.

Angelina Jolie photo Heavily pregnant Angelina Jolie has flown her dying mom, Marcheline Bertrand, to Paris, so the French actress can be with her when she gives birth.

Angelina, who is expecting her first biological child with boyfriend Brad Pitt this spring, didn�t want her mother - who has been receiving treatment for cancer - to miss the birth of her first grandchild.

"Angelina is very close to her mother and she wanted her to be there for the birth," a friend revealed to Brit newspaper The Sun.

"Angelina has been having regular check-ups at a hospital in Paris and it is expected that she will give birth within the next few weeks."

The actress� mom and dad are scared the country star could pocket half of her $160 dollar fortune is they split up.

"I know you love Keith, we're quite fond of him ourselves, but you have to cover yourself," a source revealed to Celebrity Living Magazine.

But the actress is yet to decide whether to take her parents� advice.

Nic and Keith, who reportedly got engaged at Christmas, want a traditional Catholic ceremony in an Australian chapel.
