Radio gossip Mike Evans is reporting that Paris Hilton recently bought a banana - a single banana - for 66 cents at a convenience store. No news there, except that she made the purchase with an elite American Express Black Card.
Since Paris doesn't bother to carry cash in her purse, she wipped out her uber-snobbish Am Ex Centurion black card whose bearers acquire one by "invitation only". The black card (made from titanium) requires cardholders to pay an annual fee of $2,400 and agree to charge at least $15,000 a month in order to maintain an account.
Well that's all fine for a card that provide concierge services, upgrades and other superperks for the filthy rich, but then again consider that each charge made on a Centurion ("I like to waste money") Card allegedly costs $19 to process. Which means to Paris Hilton, a $20 banana is extra tasty.
