The poo-flinging between real estate mogul Donald Trump and his friend Martha Stewart has hit a new low after the Donald wrote the domestic diva a letter, blasting her as a liar.
It seems Martha is devestated by her failed evening primetime show and is blaming Trump. She claims she was supposed to start the premiere episode of her own "Apprentice" by "firing" Trump, but that the superego would not go along with the idea. Her plan was apparently to have Trump go away quietly, cancel his highly-rated show and let her have the concept. But Trump never got past the first part - where he was to be humiliated on TV.
"What moron would think you're going to fire the guy with the No. 1 show on television?" Trump told Newsweek magazine.
Trump’s widely circulated, scathing letter to the domestic icon said she has only herself to blame for her tanked show, "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart."
"Your performance was terrible," Trump wrote. "I knew it would fail as soon as I first saw it - and your low ratings bore me out."
Trump said in an interview that he was upset by her disloyalty. "What I didn't like is that I defended Martha many, many times and I never got a note. I never got a phone call saying, 'Donald, thank you very much,'" he said. "See, you get a little bit tired of it. Then when her show fails, she blames me on top of everything else."
Speaking for the first time in public about the PR fiasco, Martha went on her daytime show and told her fans, "I'm hurt and I'm really very upset at my longtime friend and that's really all I want to say. Enough about it."
