Reese Smashes Highest Paid Actress Record

Reese Witherspoon photo Reese Witherspoon has become Hollywood's highest paid actress of all time, after inking a massive $29 deal.

The 29-year-old "Legally Blonde" star's popularity has soared after her recent critically acclaimed role in the Johnny Cash biopic, "Walk the Line".

She'll receive the whopping paycheck for her lead role in forthcoming movie, "Our Family Trouble". The massive sum smashes the £24 million record previously held by Julia Roberts for "Mona Lisa Smile".

Reese's future fees could soar even higher if she scoops the best actress award at this week's Oscars.

Anna Nicole Smith Continues Billion Dollar Fortune Fight

Anna Nicole Smith has appeared before the Supreme Court as part of her on-going legal battle to get her hands on her late husband's billion dollar fortune.

The ex-Playmate and reality TV star married Texan oil baron J Howard Marshall II in 1995, when she was 26 and he was 89. He died in 1996, leaving behind a $1.6bn estate, which Anna says she should get a substantial cut of, but one of Marshall's sons thinks otherwise.

Despite being left two homes, millions of dollars worth of gifts, clothing and jewelry, it isn't enough for Anna; she claims Marshall promised her half of everything he owned.

She's been locked in a court case since fighting for a share of his cash. An initial decision to award her half of her husband's fortune was over-turned in 2002.

Mariah Makes Movie Comeback...Don't Scream!

Mariah Carey photo Mariah Carey is set to make her movie comeback later this year, undeterred by the spectacular flop of her last high-profile film, "Glitter".

The R&B diva is hoping her acting career will be as successful as her recent musical comeback with "The Emancipation of Mimi" album, which has won practically every music award possible.

She'll star in the independent drama, "Tennessee", about a family hit by a crisis. Mariah will play a waitress who sets off with two brothers to find their estranged father, in a bid to save their younger sibling who is dying from leukemia.

The film's Producer Lee Daniels, who produced the Oscar-winning "Monster's Ball", said he chose to cast the "We Belong Together" singer after seeing her in 2002's "WiseGirls".

Matthew McConaughey Disses Sarah Jessica Parker

Matthew McConaugheyMatthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker star as sweethearts in the film "Failure To Launch" but off-screen the hunky actor reportedly couldn't stand Parker, and would later admit that he found her "peculiar."

The pair starred together in the recent romantic comedy to be released on March 10, and sources on the set say filming was anything but fun.

One insider told Msnbc's The Scoop website, "Matthew gets along with pretty much everyone, but he basically couldn't bear Sarah."

The southern gentleman recently made an appearance on Oprah Winfrey's show and seemed to struggle when coaxed to say something nice about the former "Sex And The City" star.

When asked by Oprah to sum-up what it was like to work with Parker, the hunk finally came up with, "Great comedic timing," and then added, "Very peculiar, too. Man, she's a very interesting woman. Yeah."

Master P & Silkk the Shocker Plead Ugh, Not Guilty

Master PHip hop artist and really bad dancer Master P went straight from the "Dancing With The Stars" competition to court to stand trial on felony gun possession charges.

The No Limit mogul and his brother, Silkk the Shocker, were pulled over by UCLA campus police in January 2005 for driving a car without plates, and police noticed P had two unregistered and loaded handguns in his car - one underneath the driver's seat and one underneath the passenger seat.

Master P (aka Percy Miller) had his lawyers ask the judge to dismiss the case for lack of evidence. That was denied. A follow-up appeal for the charge to be reduced to a misdemeanor - because according to reports neither brother has a prior record - was also denied. If convicted, the father of Lil' Romeo faces up to three years in jail.

New Legal Whammy for George Michael

George Michael picExplaining, "It was my own stupid fault, as usual, " George Michael admitted to drug possession after he was arrested at 1:50 am Sunday when cops found him slumped at the wheel of his car in London's Hyde Park.

Michael was suspected of being unfit to drive when a passerby saw him and alerted police. A police spokesman said, "We were called by a member of the public to a man seen slumped over the steering wheel of a car. Police spoke to the 42-year-old man. A search revealed what are believed to be controlled substances. He was subsequently arrested."

Cops allegedly found two packets of marijuana in his car. A police doctor later determined Michael was capable of driving, but the singer still faces charges over the drug bust.

Kidman: Wedding Rumors are Urban Legend

Nicole Kidman picActress Nicole Kidman has slammed press reports she will marry country music singer Keith Urban at home in Australia next month.

Stories surfaced last week that the celebrity couple had sent out invitations for a ceremony in Sydney to be held just after Nicole returns from the March 5 Academy Awards where she will be a presenter.

Her publicist Wendy Day said, "Everything about that story is nonsense. Nicole Kidman is not getting married to Keith Urban at a Catholic church in Sydney on March 11. I know of no wedding. I know of no wedding date. I know of no wedding plans."

According to Day, Kidman has no immediate plans to return to Australia, adding, "She is starting work on a new film in upstate New York in Early April."

The couple have been dating for the past year and made their first official public appearance at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles earlier this month.

Sex Pistols Raise Middle Finger to Hall of Fame

Johnny RottenCalling the museum "urine in wine," punk legends The Sex Pistols have issued an official snub to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, refusing to turn up at their own induction next month - a defiant act which makes them hall of famers to their fans.

The band posted a handwritten statement, filled with spelling mistakes, on their website declaring, "We're not coming. We're not your monkeys."

The sneering statement continues: ""Next to the Sex Pistols, rock and roll and that hall of fame is a piss stain. Your museum. Urine in wine. We're not coming. We're not your monkeys. If you voted for us, hope you noted your reasons. Your anonymous as judges but your still music industry people. We're not coming. Your not paying attention. Outside the shit-stream is a real Sex Pistol."

The induction ceremony is scheduled for March 13 at the posh Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.

Elle Macpherson picElle Macpherson's split with her longtime beau Arky Busson is about to get very nasty, and he is demanding sole custody of their sons.

PageSix is reporting that the gorgeous supermodel and the Swiss financier, the father of Flynn, 7, and Aurelius Cy, 2, broke up last summer as they publicly announced they had "decided to spend some time apart to consider our future." The couple had been engaged since 2002, but never wed.

At the time, they stated they still had a "wonderful relationship." And Elle told reporters: "Contrary to rumors, I'm not moving back to Australia. I would not separate my children from their father."

But things have changed for the worse. "He's jealous and he wants to hurt her," a source close to the supermodel told Jared Paul Stern at the New York Post. "This is like a final [bleep] you. He doesn't want her to have a life without him."

Elle won't discuss her personal life but a friend of hers conceded there are "custody issues."

Lil' Kim and the Countdown to Lockdown Show

Lil Kim picThe new BET reality series "Lil' Kim: Countdown To Lockdown" debuts on March 9 to show the Queen Bee's life filled with glamour and high living before going to the opposite extreme of entering the slam for a long, long 366 days.

The half-hour show chronicles the last two weeks of freedom for the hip hop rap artist as she ties up her business, says goodbye to friends, and makes peace with herself. As expected, BET follows the 4'11" Lil' Kim as she and her entourage attend fashion shows, parties, music video shoots, signs autographs, and shops til she drops.

But the revealing part comes when the outspoken diva begins to wind down, becoming Kimberly Jones, as she takes off the hair extensions, acrylic nails, and make-up in an emotional preparation for her long lock down in the Philly pen, a place one former inmate described as the most depressing place she had ever seen.
