Paris Hilton has been caught red-handed making up rumors to enhance her own publicity. Her legal feud with diamond heiress-actress Zeta Graff is heating up and Paris has been nailed for making false statements.
According to PageSix, just before Paris left with Stavros Niarchos for a holiday vacation in Maui, she gave a deposition in the $10 million slander suit Graff filed against her last year, in which Graff claims the hotel heiress deliberately slammed her.
A source close to the case said Paris admitted lying when she planted a story in the press that Graff, who had dated Paris Latsis before Paris, attacked the she-Paris in a "jealous rage" at a London club. Paris stated in the deposition that it never happened - Graff never attacked her.
Futhermore, Hilton's former publicist, Rob Shuter, said in his deposition that the attack rumor came straight from Paris herself. To back up his claim, Shuter showed proof that he had Paris sign a waiver so that she would be liable if he got sued, and he saved her e-mails and logged her phone calls.
Graff said in a statement to PageSix: "Hilton will learn a valuable lesson about what happens when you try to ruin another person's reputation. She made a number of false statements about me, and she repeatedly lied under oath during her recent deposition. I look forward to her explaining all of this to a jury."
