The dad of controversial rapper Kanye West would like his son to stop degrading African-Americans in his songs. Former Black Panther turned sociology professor Ray West says he winces every time his son uses the "n" word.
He told Rolling Stone magazine, "I've stated to him very clearly that he needs to move beyond the negative language...It's all right to say b**ch and motherf***er on the corner, but when you start operating on a different level, you can't talk like that."
"Fine, you're trying to get some street acceptance. Now that you got that, get back to your roots," Professor West said. "You know that's not where you came from ... You know that's not how you were raised."
Meanwhile, for Kanye new's shock-of-the-month stunt, he appears on the cover of Rolling Stone wearing a crown of thorns in a Christ poise. But in tastier gossip, he's rumored to have hooked up with Pam Anderson. (talk about your freaky hook-ups!) Will the real Kanye West please stand up?
