Frances Bean Cobain, the 13-year-old daughter of grunge rockers Courtney Love and the late Kurt Cobain, says she wants Mariah Carey to sing for her Sweet 16 party.
She also reveals to i-D magazine for its latest issue that she thinks her mom is cool, she's obsessed with watching "Laguna Beach" and "American Idol," and as for dealing with the legacy of her parents, she'd rather think about things like shopping and chemistry class.
Frances Bean (I LOVE that name!) says her style is "very girly, classic girly," but not like her mother's ironic twist on femininity.
"You know the funny thing about my mom? That stuff works for her! She can get away with it," Frances said. "She looks good in it." (And the kid is polite!)
As much as she thinks her mom is cool, though, Frances sometimes wishes her mom were a little more normal - and hints she'd like to spend more time with her.
"Sometimes I wish I wasn't so much at home alone and that it wasn't about nannies and chauffeurs and all that stuff," Frances said. "I get to meet everyone I want and I get quite a lot of attention because of it, you know? But of course it hurts when you see a lot of lies about her in tabloids and then you think, 'Well, it's not that cool to have a cool mom.' I don't like seeing my mom upset. No one does, right?"

You know what I think? Frances Bean should....just...pick up a guitar....she just needs to pick one up. because she's got these things in her called genes. And im sure she's got some musical heredity in her. One day shes gonna have to have some kind of career. and i'll tell you what, I would buy her album. I dont care if it sounds like Kelly Clarkson. She might not like her father for what he did, but if she made it in the music world without becoming a "self-destructive death rocker", One of the things Cobain feared, It would be a fine day to see. She might not realize it, might not even care, but somewhere inside her she has natural born talent. And if she likes "American Idol" so much, why not just become one? Im not saying she's automatically a musician because of her famous parents, and thats probably the last thing she wants to be, but it would make the whole world damn proud. and im sure alot of the residents of seattle(including myslef) would LOVE to see the daughter of two musicains, walk the stage,, and even rise above her parents work. THAT, would be the one of the FINEST points in musical History.

WELL I THINK SHE SHOULD DO WHAT SHE WANTS TO DO. AND IM CONFUSED ABOUT THE WHOLE THING OF WEATHER OR NOT KURT WAS MURDERED OR IT WAS A SUICIDE BECAUSE THERES EVIDINCE FOR BOTH I JUST HOPE SHE IS NOT CONFUSED BECAUSE I WOULD BE HURT IF MY MOM KILLED MY FATHER. BUT SHE PROBABLY DOSENT EVEN WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THAT KIND OF STUFF I KNOW I WOULDNT. AND ITS NOT A BAD THING THAT SHE IS DIFFERENT FROM HER PARENTS.

I am a big fan of her parents and i've actually gone to a few hole concerts! And reading the article in i-d it is pretty obvious that she's a cool kid. Though her parents are both great musicians i honestly think she should do what she wants, cuz i always hear these people talking about how they want her to get in the music business and carry on her father's legacy and whatever. I think that's just pretty dumb and really rude to her cuz she obviously has her own thing going and people should just let her be and not expect another kurt cobain!

WELL I BELIVE SHE SHOULD BE PROUD HER FATHER IS KURT DONALD COBAIN..I KNOW I WOULD BE...AND EXACTLY SHE DOES HAVE THESE LITTLE THINGS CALLED GENES...GOSH SHE SHOULD MAKE HERSELF MORE USEFUL UNLIKE HER MOTHER.I HOPE SOMEDAY SHE REALIZES THAT. WHEN SHE GETS OLDER SHE WILL KNOW THAT.

I don't think frances realizes she could be the next big thing in revolution and music. She could change many many things and she's still young and theres alot of time. I know she will, hopefully she'll grow out of this kelly clarkson miriah carrey stage, and start getting words, lyrics in her head and will start playing guitar and realize what talent she has. The last thing this world needs is a pop culture, drugs, sex, rap, thing to happen again. Rock music is dead. I hope she changes things, she might be the only one left who can....
