Variety is reporting that rocker David Bowie will join Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale in "The Prestige," the story of two rival magicians who resort to deadly means as they constantly try to one-up each other.
Bale and Jackman are cast in the lead roles in 1878 London tale. Michael Caine will play a retired magician who teaches tricks to Jackman's character. The film will be directed by Christopher Nolan who also directed "Batman Begins" and "Memento."
Bowie will play inventor and electrical wizard Nikola Tesla, who is approached by one of two competing magicians for help in pulling off the ultimate magic trick. The Tesla character is based on the real-life Serbian-American inventor who discovered the rotating magnetic field.
