"I started breaking down in tears and screaming, and I couldn't even hear myself scream," Foxy Brown told People Magazine. "I ran outside to my truck and honked the horn. Nothing. I ran back inside and dialed a number on the phone. Nothing. Then I started breaking down in tears and screaming and I couldn't even hear myself scream. That's when I knew there was a problem."
Rapper Foxy Brown has suffered a sudden and severe hearing loss that became apparent last May when she went totally deaf. According to reports, she made the condition worsen after trying to hide the hearing loss in hopes that medication could help restore everything. Foxy also added that she had been deaf for four months without speaking out.
A New York Otolaryngology specialist called Foxy's case "severe." It is caused by a viral infection and the rare condition affects only about one in 10,000 people.
"I know God is working on me," Foxy told People. "I'm on a personal journey. I believe God wants to be the only voice I hear right now. I know I will be all right."
The rap star, real name Inga Marchand, isn't naming names but admits there were some high-profile pals who turned their backs on her when they learned of her disability.
"When you go through a crisis, you really see who is there for you..." she said. "A lot of people that I thought would be there through thick and thin have completely disappeared. Because I couldn't hear, I was no longer useful to them. I couldn't put a record out."
She says the snubs have only made her stronger and have given her the incentive to fight. "I decided when they see me, I'm going to be the same Foxy, looking head to toe gorgeous."

I am so proud of Foxy Brown for standing up and facing the issue that is going on in her life. I do believe GOD has something great in store for her. This is only a test. God had to weed out those bad friends to make room for the real ones. He also had to be the voice to hear. Keep Trustin GOD, Foxy, and he will not only restore hearing but also restore joy and long-lasting friendships. How can we help others to go through if we never been through. God has a plan for your life.

I like what whitney was saying in her comments because that's exactly what's happening right now Foxy. I've been in church all of my life and I'm really just starting to get very serious and passionate about GOD and I found out that everything that happens good and bad all happens for a reason. I beleive that GOD is trying to tell you something but it's a certain way that you have to recieve it. Maybe you wouldn't have received it the same way if you still were able to hear. He had to put some things on pause to get your attention and let you know what freinds and different things to let go. This is a great time to make sure that HE is #1 in your life, seriously. (Just a suggestion) You might wanna look into gospel rap. I'd be your #1 fan! You have a great testimony already with the things that you have been through in your life and with this on top of all that, do you understand how many souls you can help save if you just use your gift in a "100% totally sold out for Christ" way?! The possabilities are as endless as eternity. Please take this time to go all out for GOD. Go after HIM with all that you have and I promise you that you will not regret it at all. I know that it would probably be hard because of how deep you are in the rap industry but like I said you won't regret it. I promise. I love you Foxy and I'm praying for you.

Foxy, when I read your article in People magazine I was almost in tears. I felt your pain even though I have no idea what you are going through. It is true, when you are at your worst and you think your friends have your back, you will find out who really are you friends when you go through something rough in your life like this. I am praying that whatever Jesus has for you it will be so amazing and Beautiful in the end, and I know it is! You are truly a blessing Foxy and keep the good fight! He knows everything in your heart, so keep the faith sis!
Love always,
Matt! :)

I personally have never listened to a foxy brown record.I don't like her music. She is too fake. But I was concerned when I heard she suffered from hearing loss. My prayers go out to her. That has to be the worst feeling in the world, to scream and not even hear your own voice.Oh well, at least she won't be stinking up tha air waves with that horse voice

Hi Foxy,My name is Lamesha Johnson and I'am from Va and I'm deaf also. I have a Cochlear implant which help me to hear. Don't feel bad about your self because you are not the only person deaf in the world. I'm so sorry you became deaf, I hate being deaf too but there's nothing I could do about it. Remeber don't feel ashamed that you are deaf. It going to take time. God bless you. I'm 15 years old.

Hello Inga Marchand,
I wanted to express my deepest sympathy. I'm sorry to hear what happened to you but I am more happy that there is a possible surgery that can restore your hearing. I heard on the radio that there is a surgery that you can take to restore your hearing. If this is True, please promise me your next album will be a gospel one. Loosing your hearing is just an example of how you can have life this minute, and the next, your gone. Not to sound so extreme, but it's true. You are very precious and deserve the best in life. Please take this experience as a life learning experience and touch as many hearts as you can. You have a voice Inga, People will listen.
