Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty is protesting his innocence after being arrested on suspicion of drug possession after spending a night in lockup when police found what they thought was an illegal substance on him after a concert in Shrewsbury, England.
Pete said the drugs were a prescription he was taking to treat an infection in his heroin replacement implant and that he is totally clean of illegal junk: "It's just some sort of mistake, that's all."
He added: "Every day of this tour we have been told we are going to get raided and basically, they (the police) have found f*** all."
"The only drugs I had on me were prescription drugs in my implant, but it had gone septic and it’s spewing them out. Speaking for myself, I have been clean on this tour."
The boyfriend of supermodel Kate Moss also hit out at journalists who call him a smackhead and a druggie. He says the claims are are libellous and journalists should be consider themselves lucky ... that he's too disorganised to sue.
