"Suites fitted out with gold faucets. A new toilet seat must be installed before her arrival. Expensive French mineral water for her and her dog to bathe in." Also, "her own bed linens are flown in in advance."
Oh, and "on the two obligatory DVD players, only her own videos may be played." These are just a few of the demands of Mariah Carey made to already uber-posh hotels when she travels. New York Post Columnist Cindy Adams got the scoop straight out of the Austrian Hotel Association's "OHV Hotel Guide for 2005/2006." In the article "You Are the Star of Our Days" it lists certain requirements of stars. Here's more:
Mariah's buddy, Eminem, likes to keep things sophomoric. His demands include: Nintendo PlayStation, Ping-Pong table, basketball hoop, giant flat-screen TV, personal masseur, and fast food.
Then there's Justin Timberlake, who demands the entire floor, private fitness studio, extra-large stereo unit and PlayStation. Also: "The floor's air conditioning filters must be changed on his arrival. He insists all door handles be disinfected every few hours," says the booklet. And, since Justin is a diva: "the hotel staff may under no circumstances address him."
And no surprise, Jennifer Lopez and her demands are nothing we haven't heard in stories before: "Her suite must be painted and furnished completely in white. Also lilies and roses, her favorite flowers, white. Romantic candles placed everywhere — white, of course — ideally with the Paris perfume, Diptyque. Room temperature set at exactly 25.5 degrees Celsius. And her staff must also be accommodated. She travels with an entourage of up to 100." But this isn't Jen of course, she usually blames her staff for even the outrageous dressing room demands that have helped to create her Diva reputation.
