New Orleans is famous for its many great musicians, and this report is particularly sad if true: r & b legend Fats Domino has not been heard from since monday afternoon.
The rock and roll hall of famer ("Ain’t that a shame," "Blueberry hill" and "I’m walking") told his manager in a phone call on monday afternoon that he would "Ride out the storm" at home.
Domino, 76, who sold more than 110 million records, lives with his wife Rosemary and daughter in a three-story pink-roofed house in New Orleans’ low-income neighborhood of the 9th ward, which is now under water.
It is where the battle of new orleans was fought in 1815 and where only adventurous tourists go.
Checquoline Davis, domino's niece, posted a message on craigslist.com thursday pleading for information. Davis wrote that Domino, his wife, their children and grandchildren "didn't get out" of the second floor.
update: (friday, sept. 2) - Fats has been rescued and is doing well.
