Kristin Veitch of eonline! is reporting that the first few episodes of the new "Lost" season will be all that the show's fans hope it will be: "I think between the end of the first season and the start of the second there's about 35 seconds. So, you're right in the midst of the action," Dominic Monaghan told her.
Jorge Garcia (Big Hurley) says that "The great thing about it is, you learn a little bit about what's in the hatch, and as you go through the first few episodes, more comes together, and you realize that it's a much more significant thing than it was at the start of the show. It's a really cool reveal."
"Lost" producer Damon Lindelof says he's nervous about what the fans will think of the hatch revelations: "Basically, we were like, 'Are we crazy? Should we do this? Is the network gonna let us do this?'"
"And everybody's been tremendously onboard with it. A lot of people might think it's weird, and a lot of people might hate it," Lindelof said. "But we think it's really, really cool, and we had to execute it and take it seriously because we did not want to go into the hatch and just find another hatch or some maps or, like, a toilet."
, For diehard "Lost" fanatics, the show will have its own magazine featuring exclusive material, including cast interviews, news and reports direct from the island. The first issue, with Evangeline Lilly and Matthew Fox on the cover, will be published October 2005.
And the complete first season of "Lost" will be released on DVD box set on September 6th. It'll be choked full of extras too, just enough to tide you over until the season begins September 21.
