Should we expect some icy exchanges, jabs, and dirty looks in the cat fight between Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie when the network throws them together again to film the next season of "The Simple Life"?
Or will they act lovey dovey and bury their dispute for a while? The Fox network has announced that it has picked up the options on the contracts for both of the feuding friends for the fourth season of the reality show. And it sounds like the producers are hoping their off-screen rift will make for good TV on-screen.
"We feel that there is something there, given the fact that both Paris and Nicole are engaged and about to be married ... there's got to be something in that world we can play with given the spirit of Simple Life," said Fox Entertainment President Peter Liguori. (Sounds like he's hoping for sparks to fly ...)
Paris, who has had the very drunk and skanky Tara Reid (photo) stuck to her this summer in Europe, had issued a statement that it was "no big secret that Nicole and I are no longer friends. Nicole knows what she did, and that's all I'm ever going to say about it." Paris has spent a couple of months lobbying for Richie's replacement to be, Rod Stewart's 25-year-old daughter, Kimberly Stewart, but the producers weren't interested.
Hilton told The Associated Press in May that the show may be headed to Hawaii because the network wants to "sex it up."
