Bo Bice Faces Long Road to Recovery

Bo Bice pic American Idol runner up Bo Bice will reportedly be out of commission for about six months following emergency surgery for a blockage in his intestines.

The rocker has missed several performances for the "American Idols Live" tour since his surgery on Friday, August 19. The sudden illness was very serious and word is coming out that Bo was close to death. According to MTV, a specialist was flown to Las Vegas' Desert Springs Hospital to perform the operation. Sounds like he's out of danger now, but it will take a long time to fully recover.

Bo's new-found fame has been plagued by bad karma this summer -- he's been performing in a cast since he broke his foot July 31 after switching from his trademark boots to sneakers, then at a show on August 13, he came down with food poisoning. Then four days later his wife and his half brother were hospitalized after an accident where their car slid under a tractor-trailer. Bummer. Best wishes to Bo for a speedy recovery.

Sharon Osbourne Feuds with Iron Maiden

Sharon Osbourne at Hyundai Pavillion Ozzfest turned into Eggfest over the weekend as Sharon Osbourne reportedly asked bands on the tour to pelt heavy metal legends Iron Maiden with eggs, beer, cups and other debris after Bruce Dickinson made fun of Ozzy.

The feuding erupted at the Ozzfest concert in Devore, California, when rowdy Black Sabbath fans began to chant for Ozzy while Maiden was performing. Several people in the crowd then began to throw eggs, lighters, and bottle tops at the stage. Iron Maiden�s frontman, Dickinson, told the crowd to break the arms of the hurlers.

This may be the result of Dickinson being quoted in Kerrang! as saying that Ozzy uses a teleprompter on stage and he also made fun of heavy-metal singers who do reality shows. Them's fighting words to Sharon.

Steppin' Out's Chaunce Hayden reported that Sharon and her daughter Kelly were spotted that afternoon asking members of some Ozzfest bands to pelt Dickinson with eggs. More hilarity ensued when the PA system cut in and out ("technical difficulties") several times during Maiden's set.
, After Maiden finished, Sharon took the stage to a chorus of boos and called Dickinson a "prick" while praising the rest of the band and their crew. Maiden will be replaced by Velvet Revolver for the rest of the tour.

In the past few days, more than a thousand angry Maiden fans have signed a petition they plan to send to Ozzy�s wife, with some signers wishing her "bodily harm."

Sharon wrote on the official website: "From day one, Bruce Dickinson started berating Ozzy and belittling the Ozzfest audience. Out of 200-plus bands over the last 10 years, he has been the only person who hasn't had the Ozzfest spirit. He thought he was at a battle of the bands, always making comments about other artists."

Sharon also states Dickinson's bandmates have approached her husband and apologized for their singer's behavior, saying they were "embarrassed" by his actions.

But the Sharon Osbourne/Bruce Dickinson feud continues ...

Nicole Richie pic This is freaking hilarious - A story on Nicole Richie and her friends dissing Cameron Diaz at a club (kudos to superficial.com).

An employee at a Hollywood club writes in saying they overheard Nicole Richie and her friends making fun of Cameron Diaz's terrible skin and weird smile:

"Okay, so I work at a club in Hollywood and Nicole Richie and a few of her friends came in and were hanging out and partying a few nights ago. Nicole was overheard putting in her two cents when Cameron Diaz's name was mentioned. Nicole: "She dresses like a scumbag, she's a hot mess." A petite brunette chick with N.R. added, "Her acne looks really bad."

Nicole: She doesn't even try to cover up the blotches or anything like that...she's no Britney that's for damn sure. Justin could've gotten MUCH better cuz he's still hot."

Brunette chick: Cameron's gettin' up there in age, don't know why he wants an old fuc$kin' broad like that."

The last thing I heard was about C.D.'s mouth lookin' like the Joker when she smiles ... I think a 3rd girl made that comment, either way it got N.R.'s whole table dying laughing."

Eyes Only On Supernatural's Jensen Ackles

Jensen Ackles pic Eye candy and terrific actor Jensen Ackles will next be seen in "Supernatural" a creepy thriller series that's being described as a "road show with ghosts."

Jensen (Smallville, Dawson's Creek, Dark Angel) will be co-starring with Jared Padalecki (Gilmore Girls) as the two play demon-slaying brothers in the new WB show. According to the producers, "Supernatural" promises to be "Route 66" meets "The X-Files" and "Star Wars" at a truck stop.

The brothers head out in a '67 Chevy Impala to search for their father, who trained them to hunt for supernatural phenomena � and the answer to their mother's haunting demise years earlier. WB Entertainment President David Janollari sees the show as, "a thrill ride � just scary and suspenseful and creepy and cool."
, Filming has been taking place in Vancouver this summer, where the two actors were attacked by a group of drunks one night after filming. The group "mistook Jared and Jensen for two guys who had hassled them earlier in the evening," according to the show's co-executive producer Peter Johnson. (Reported by PageSix)

"They picked the wrong pair," Johnson added. Jared and Jensen had been training in martial arts for the show and defended themselves easily. While the actors suffered only minor injuries, an ambulance was called to assist their attackers after the fight.

Supernatural premieres September 13th.

Jessica Alba To Play The Genie in The Bottle?

Jessica Alba pic The Dark Angel's career has taken off in the past 10 months with "Sin City," "Fantastic
Four" and soon-to-be released "Into the Blue," and word is out this week that Jessica Alba has signed on to do a remake of the TV show, "I Love Jeannie" with Jimmy Fallon playing the astronaut role.

The original series starred Barbara Eden as a genie, alongside an astronaut played by Larry Hagman. Ananova is reporting that Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Simpson and Kate Hudson were all considered for the role before producers decided on Alba.

While this film sounds like it has the potential to suck, Movieline.net is reporting that "Bend it Like Beckham" director Gurinder Chadha is interested in taking charge of the project. If you loved what Gurinder did with "Beckham" and enjoy her incredible flair for comedy, then the idea of Alba + Fallon + Chadha could be a winning combination.
, UPDATE: August 28, 2005: At the Video Music Awards Jessica says she's not involved in the movie remake of "I Dream of Jeannie."

"I just signed on to an independent called 'The Wake' for Miramax, actually, with Sigourney Weaver and Hayden Christensen. So I'm going to do a little artsy movie next."

Michael Vartan Axing Rumors May Be True

Michael Vartan pic PageSix is reporting that Michael Vartan's "Alias" character Vaughn may have been killed off on the handsome actor's last day of shooting on August 17.

Fans of the show aren't taking it well. They have started a write-in campaign to ABC to keep the character, but it's being speculated that his former girlfriend Jennifer Garner is one who is uncomfortable around Vartan now that she is married to Ben Affleck and expecting a baby.

Jennifer dated Vartan for several months after splitting from her ex-hubby Scott Foley in March 2004. According to PageSix: "Tension on the set is said to be high. Some believe Garner now wants Vartan gone and has pressured producers to write him out of the series."

"Now comes word from an insider that Aug. 17 was Vartan's last day of shooting, when he was supposedly killed off." (The fourth-season finale implied that he may be a double agent.)

Before Being Lost, Evangeline Lilly Was a Corpse

Four years ago, Evangeline Lilly was a college student who waited tables in a small town in Canada. At 25, she now the hot female lead on "Lost" and is rumored to be romantically involved co-star Dominic Monahan. ("We're Just Mates.")

"It has been a whirlwind - very exciting and scary," Evangeline told the Mirror of her meteoric career. "I consider myself very fortunate because this is my first speaking role and I feel really intimidated and out of my league."

She got her break when was spotted by a rep from the Ford modeling agency in Kelowna, British Columbia, a few years ago. But Evangelina walked away from him when he tried to sign her up -- she was insulted that a stranger would assume she wanted to build her life around her looks. But she needed money for college so she called the rep six months later and started doing commercials.

Fast forward to the "Lost" auditions where Evangeline says she went hoping to get a job as an extra. But producer JJ Abrams ("Mission Impossible 3") saw something in her and put her out front. "It totally floored me," says Lilly of her first speaking role. "The idea of being so green and having to carry a show terrified me."

Crazy Courtney Love Says She's Pregnant

Courtney Love pic Only a week ago, Courtney Love claimed to be "clean and sober" -- right up until last Friday when a judge ordered her into a 28-day drug rehab program. Now the Hole singer is claiming she's pregnant after having a 2-week affair with British actor Steve Coogan.

She was quoted as saying: "I am pregnant with Steve's baby, but I'd rather not talk about our relationship." She also claims to be embarrassed. "What does it make me look like that I have slept with Alan Partridge?" she allegedly told a friend. "Given the A-grade stars I�ve dated it�s embarrassing. I mean ... Alan Partridge!"
, Coogan, who�s best known for his portrayal of the fictional radio loser Alan Partridge, has dismissed the claim by Love that she is having his baby. His spokesman said: "He is astonished by this. It's ridiculous."

What does it say about Coogan that he may have slept with Courtney Love?? I mean ... Courtney Love!

UPDATED 8.23.05: The singer released a statement through her management company, Sanctuary Artist Management, denying she is pregnant: "Courtney Love wishes to make it clear that she denies recent stories suggesting she is pregnant or has had a relationship with Steve Coogan. She confirms that she and Steve are good friends and have met a few times in Los Angeles."
