Four years ago, Evangeline Lilly was a college student who waited tables in a small town in Canada. At 25, she now the hot female lead on "Lost" and is rumored to be romantically involved co-star Dominic Monahan. ("We're Just Mates.")
"It has been a whirlwind - very exciting and scary," Evangeline told the Mirror of her meteoric career. "I consider myself very fortunate because this is my first speaking role and I feel really intimidated and out of my league."
She got her break when was spotted by a rep from the Ford modeling agency in Kelowna, British Columbia, a few years ago. But Evangelina walked away from him when he tried to sign her up -- she was insulted that a stranger would assume she wanted to build her life around her looks. But she needed money for college so she called the rep six months later and started doing commercials.
Fast forward to the "Lost" auditions where Evangeline says she went hoping to get a job as an extra. But producer JJ Abrams ("Mission Impossible 3") saw something in her and put her out front. "It totally floored me," says Lilly of her first speaking role. "The idea of being so green and having to carry a show terrified me."
Incredibly, her only acting job before "Lost" was a brief appearance on Stephen King's "Kingdom Hospital" -- where she played a corpse!
Since last spring, she's gone from being a virtual unknown to being named the second sexiest woman on the planet by men's mag Maxim and has dumped her small town hubby for a world famous hobbit. For more info on Evangeline, jump over and read a long article at mirror.co.uk.
