At the moment, Paris Hilton is, in her own immortal word, "hot." But now that the hotel heiress is branching out from her TV show "The Simple Life" to be our everything, is she spreading herself too thin?
Speaking to The New York Times about her plans, Hilton, 24, says her goal is to "build an empire. I don't want to be known as this Hilton hotel girl my whole life. I want to make my own name."
Like she hasn't already made a name for herself already? Her plans for her empire include the following: a makeup line for women, a fragrance for men; a line of Hilton handbags; a fashion label; an energy drink; and a chain of boutique hotels called Hotel Paris. "It will be pink and hot." she says.
, Although not known for her singing talents, she is also recording an album with Lil Jon. Oh, yes, and pursuing her career as a motion picture and TV star. The early reviews of "House of Wax" which opens this Friday are mixed. The remake of 1953 Vincent Price horror movie has been modernized as a slasher flick but Paris defends the film, telling the New York Post: "Ours is much hotter, because Vincent Prince is not as hot as me and Elisha Cuthbert."
She's been making the rounds on the talk circuit to promote the film too. Last week she was on the David Letterman Show where the fluxom'd Dave did what he could to try to cox an intelligent statement out of her. And this guy is the best in the business but all she could manage to say was "that's hot." Oh, how I wish I was kidding, but I'm not.
But boo for Paris, you've probably heard that her Carl's Jr. TV ad has been banned from being shown on the networks because it was - you guess it, "too hot." I guess soaping up a car and stripping down to a bikini and getting down on all fours to take a bite out of a burger is so ... that ... you ... won't get any grease on your clothes?
She also let it slip that all that partying over the past couple of years wasn't all for a good time. "I'm glad I got the partying out of my system when I was young, because now I'm so over it and I can focus on my career." But not so fast. The Times reports that Paris charges and gets between $150,000 to $200,000 just for a 20-minute personal appearance at parties. OMG -- now that's hot.
