Why does this not surprise me? Writer-director Guy Richie has come to his senses and the great Brit director has cut scenes featuring his wife, Madonna, from his latest gangster movie, "Revolver." She had shot several scenes for a cameo role as a female crime boss - but no more -- zap, it's all gone.

Since Madonna usually scores scathing reviews for her acting attempts in most of her films (Yeah, I admit it, she WAS great in "Desperately Seeking Susan" and "A League of Their Own"), including her collaboration with hubby Guy in 2002's "Swept Away," it's good for Richie fans to learn that she won't be in "Revolver."
A source says, "Perhaps Guy did not want Madonna's kiss of death on his latest movie, or perhaps he just decided the scene wasn't quite right, but either way Madonna does not make the final cut."
, I loved Guy's films "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch," both which he did well before he became Mr. Madonna and the wheels fell off his career. Looks like now he could be returning to genius cutting-edge filmmaking -- without his wife to muck things up for him.
