NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! The march from classic horror to trendy horror is on the move again. It's being rumored that Jessica Biel, who starred in both "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Blade Trinity", is up for a lead role in the remake of "The Hitcher."
Director Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes company is mulling over the idea of producing the new version, and Biel would play the role that Jennifer Jason Leigh played in the original.
Ugh! Not only was original cult classic "The Hitcher," one of the bestest thrillers ever made (in 1986), no one can play the sadistic hitcherhiker better than the scarier-than-hell Rutger Hauer. The scene where mullet-wearing C. Thomas Howell is eating french fries in the diner is one of the creepiest in the history of horror films. And why would Jessica want such a dinky role anyway? It's not like there's much dialogue in the film . . .
