It's seamy; it's dark; it's Frank Miller's "Sin City" brought to life pulp-fiction style. And best of all, you get to see Jess doing the sexy lasso thing.

Jessica Alba claims that she's shy and was truly terrified about strip down to her birthday suit for scenes in "Sin City." She's told interviewers that she did that whole method acting kind of special research in preparing for her role: she got drunk and visited strip clubs.
And then there's the rope trick business. Alba herself decided to add a lasso to her stripping routine in the film: "I had a rope guy teach me how to twist it around like a lasso and stuff. I just spent every night in Texas in The Four Seasons (hotel) in my underwear, knocking over lamps trying to lasso things." , As far as stripping goes, she says she didn't mind the dancing bit, but had a "no-nudity" clause in her contract, so when she's suppose to strip in the film -- it's down to revealing bikini only.
She says: "I'm not someone who likes to go onstage and be a star. So, I just went to a bunch of strip clubs to do research. I would have to get a little tipsy, though, because it's kind of intimidating talking to these women with incredible bodies who are writhing in front of you. I hit about four strip clubs in LA, two in New York, and two in Texas."
Despite her legion of fans and a body to die for, Jess said: "I had to audition for the part, and I was most worried about Frank Miller. Believe me, there were a lot bigger names than me who were interested in the part. The first thing Frank said to me was `Can you dance?' ... He had no idea who I was, so when he told Robert Rodriguez that he thought I was exactly what he imagined as Nancy, I was pretty thrilled."
And yeppers, Papa Alba WILL be horrified once again: "My dad is none too happy about me being on the cover of GQ,''she says of her Air Force officer father, seeing her naked spread in the Men's mag. "I'm still his little girl, you know. I had to talk him down, you know, 'I'm not naked, I don't really show anything.' But I may have failed to tell him I'm a stripper in Sin City actually. . ."
Sin City opens today in wide release, to mostly 3 and 4 star reviews.
