Now here's two juicy Brit bits: one, it being reported by a "Desperate Housewives" cast member directly that Britany Spears has been snubbed by hot show. Rumor has it the star wants a cameo part and has begged the show's producers to let her appear.
But the answer was a firm Thanks but no thanks. "Britney Spears and her people have been trying to get her on the show and I can promise you that will never happen," James Denton who plays Mike, told Teen Hollywood. "Everyone in Hollywood wants to be a guest star."
The official line is that producers feel she would detract from the main characters. (No, I think the real reason is because they took a look at Britney's acting in "Crossroads."), In the other bit of Brit news, she and Kevin have signed with UPN for a 6-episode reality series due to premiere before the end of next month, Variety reports. The show was rejected by ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox.
Britney again said it was the tabloids that have forced her to act. "From the day that Kevin and I met, there have been constant rumors and inaccurate speculation about our lives together," Britney said in a statement. "I feel that last year the tabloids ran my life and I am really excited about showing my fans what really happened rather than all the stories, which have been misconstrued by journalists in the past. As I mentioned before, I am now going to be expressing my personal life through art."
The series will trace their courtship, engagement and wedding, and will reportedly refute the scourge of "false tabloid" reports on their relationship. However, the "reality" of the show is that it won't cover any current happenings with the two -- it was all filmed over a year ago!
Britney and Federline filmed most of the footage themselves and it will only cover their early time together, not post marriage. In other words, old news. Yawn.
