In the new film she picks up her badge and gun again as the accident-prone FBI agent, this time going undercover in Las Vegas. If you saw the first "Miss Congeniality" you know that the sexy misfit of a federal officer became an overnight media sensation. In the second movie, she is frustrated by her newfound fame but reluctantly agrees to serve the Bureau in the only way possible: coifed and styled for the talk show circuit as "the face of the FBI."
Though resistant at first, her character Gracie soon warms to the attention and it's not long before she's getting into her new role a little too much. Her new partner Sam Fuller (Regina King), a tough, ambitious agent who is clearly not her biggest fan, is the first to point out that the pampered Bureau star is turning into FBI Barbie.
But when Gracie's best friend, pageant winner Cheryl Frazier (Heather Burns), and emcee Stan Fields (William Shatner), are kidnapped in Las Vegas, Gracie's crime-fighting instincts kick back in.
The rest of the cast of "Miss Congeniality 2" includes Enrique Murciano, Ernie Hudson, Diedrich Bader, and Treat Williams. I'm looking forward to it -- and let's hope it's not "Speed 2" all over again.
