It's been announced that
Jack Nicholson has agreed to play the Irish Mob Boss in Martin Scorsese's next film "The Departed" which begins shooting next month. Nicholson was quoted as saying, "(I've been) looking for a bad guy - I just did three comedies. (DiCaprio, Scorsese and I) had been looking for something to do together." Of his Boston Irishman role, he jokingly adds, "I won't have to act much."
The Hollywood buzz is that Nicholson thought the script was so good that he's coming out of retirement (he was retired?) to do it. He last appeared in "Anger Management" (2003), "Something’s Gotta Give" (2002), and "About Schmidt" (2002). Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Mark Wahlberg are already set to be in the film to be shot in Boston.
