Guillermo Coria lost to fellow Argentina compatriot David Nalbandian at the Australian Open today, by a score of 5-7 7-5 6-3 6-0, with the match ending after 2 a.m. in Melbourne. There were still a few die-hard Coria fans left in the stands.
Some were even awake.
The two stars are the same age (both just turned 23 this month), and both are very close in caliber on hard courts. The two have been fierce rivals since they became junior champions at 15, and reportedly, they do not get along with each other. Nalbandian will now meet Lleyton Hewitt in the quarter finals.
By the way, Guillermo Coria was named after tennis GOD Guillermo Vilas, the great Argentina star from the late 70s and 80s.
