And just think, the buyer could have picked up a well-written book report online, by a pro writer, for $9.95 . . .
But then it would have been written by Britney Spears, a budding literary genius. But $1,900 is what someone paid for a report Spears did as a child on the book "Raymond's Run." It sold over the weekend at Christie's auction house in New York. It was expected to sell for far less.
At the same auction, a cherry-red Gibson guitar once owned by the late Beatle George Harrison used on the "Revolver" album and later by John Lennon on "The White Album" sold for more than $567,000. Okay, I can see that.
Also a good price was the two-page letter by a hallucinating Kurt Cobain and faxed to Courtney Love sold for more than $1,900. Also a good momento.
But a kiddie book report by Britany Spears?
